GIF Upscale
Enlarge an animated GIF up to 2x while keeping quality as sharp as possible. All frames are processed in your browser.
GIF Upscale enlarges a low-resolution animated GIF up to 2x its original size while preserving the animation and as much image quality as possible. Old or low-res GIFs look blocky and jagged when stretched onto a larger screen or banner — this tool applies the browser's built-in high-quality Canvas smoothing to every frame, enlarging the image without harsh, stair-stepped pixel edges. Everything runs 100% in your browser, so your file never touches a server and processing is fast.
It's worth understanding what this tool is not: it's interpolation-based, not AI super-resolution. It cannot invent detail that wasn't in the source image — it only smooths out jagged edges as it enlarges. In hands-on testing, 1x–2x scaling stayed nearly indistinguishable from the original, but quality started to soften noticeably at 3x, which is why this tool caps scaling at 2x. For the best result, start with the highest-quality GIF you have.
