Can I extract only specific frames?

How many frames can be extracted at once?

There is no limit — all frames in the GIF are extracted. For GIFs with hundreds of frames, the download may be packaged as a ZIP file.

Will the extracted frames include transparency?

Yes. GIF transparency is converted to PNG alpha transparency in the extracted frames.

Can I reassemble extracted frames back into a GIF?

Yes. Use the Images to GIF tool to combine PNG frames back into an animated GIF.

Why do some frames look different from what I see when playing the GIF?

GIFs use frame disposal methods — some frames only contain differences (patches) from the previous frame. The splitter renders each frame composited correctly.

Is the original GIF modified during splitting?

No. The original file is read but never modified. All extracted frames are new files generated in your browser.

Can I use the extracted frames for video editing?

Yes. PNG frames can be imported into video editors like Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or any tool that accepts image sequences.

Are there any limits on input GIF file size?

No server-imposed limits. Very large GIFs may take a moment to parse, but your browser handles all the work locally.
